I Have Joy and Peace

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7)

How can we have peace and be joyful? How can we be Christ to those with whom we come in contact without His joy and peace?

We are to have peace regardless of our circumstances. In doing so we are to be selfless and gentle. We are also to be free of worry, engaging in a worshipful connection with our heavenly Father. It is He who will carry us through trying circumstances.

God is not surprised by our troubles and challenges. Why should we? We have a choice: we can either wallow in our distress or we can allow the Holy Spirit to demonstrate Christ in us.

Joy and peace are not things that we put on. They come from the joy and peace of Christ who lives within us. Does your life show joy and peace?

Who am I? I have joy because l see God working in and through me.
